Man, I love tax returns!

Ok, so I already got my ring. They sent it overnight UPS. I didn't even know they were gonna do that and then they put it on the front porch, I was surprised at that too. I had tracked the pkg. from my work computer early this afternoon and it had already been delivered. Nothing like leaving a thousand dollar item on the front door step eh? Oh well, at least it was still there. Here are a couple pics. It's pretty shiny still as its new so you can sorta tell the diff. between old rings and new but in due time they'll all look the same...

We are getting a new computer today also. As a matter of fact UPS just dropped it off! A busy UPS day at the Pierce residence. Its a pink Sony vaio. I can't believe DH let me actually get a pink desktop computer, I am so happy. He always uses his laptop in the dining room so I guess he doesn't really care now.

As far as diet goes, I am down 12 lbs. from my starting point on 2/2. I am pretty happy about it, I don't really notice too much change in anything yet--i.e., clothes or the mirror but I know it'll happen soon. I would like to get a treadmill this weekend but not sure. I did buy an electronic food scale so I can be more precise in my calorie count.

After looking at the actual post I had to laugh. I have no idea why I didn't just lay my hand flat out, it looks like I have REALLY short fingers! LOL!!!!!

I keep forgetting to mention stuff and have edited this damn thing like 3 x so far. Forgot to mention we did a warrant this morning in Palm Springs. This community mostly consists of the older generation retired folks and gay men. Well, this house we were in this morning made me wanna puke more than once! This guy worked in the food industry and just had food containers w/ food in them. All.over.the.house. And bags of rotting trash and cigarette butts EVERYWHERE. Ugh, I can still recall the smell and it makes me want to hurl. It amazes me how some people can live like that. What scared me also was as I'm searching his room I see all these papers regarding blood tests and wasn't really thinking much of it until I came across a dr. visit invoice and saw that he's HIV positive. Arrrgh, all I could think about was "I better not bring anything home with me after being here....Samantha.....Samantha.....". You know being somewhat ignorant in my head cause I know it's not friggin' passed just by being in someone's room, it's blood bourne. It's still an eerie feeling though. But c'mon! How does a person live like that? I mean being unsanitary. You had to've been there, it was the 2nd worst house I have ever been in and I have seen a lot of shit already.

Just be thankful you don't have to ever be a witness to that! Just one of the hazards of my job I guess?????

Ok, so I finally ordered it

My diamond ring that is! The one website I was going to get it from originally was sold out of my size, they were having a great sale on 1 ct. diamond eternity bands and I was gonna buy from them. I cannot wear an 8.5 or a 9 however so I called to see if they had any 7's because maybe the site was old news or something and the lady said they had NO MORE at all! Arrrgh! So I had to shop around again this morning and found it on another site for another $100 or so but at least I found one that's under the $1,400 the jewlery store @ the mall wanted...!

Once I get it I will post a pic, it's nothing major but I just wanted another band to go w/ the rest. I told DH that I want to keep adding onto the ring until it gets to the knuckle. Seriously. Well, my fingers are short so this'll probably the last one!

I don't even know why I'm telling you all this before I even have it, you can tell I have absolutely nothing else exciting going on in my life.

Other big news: I went on a walk today during work. Yes, this is big news because I am normally a serious lazy ass. LOL...the walk felt good to tell you the truth. I am really committed to losing weight. Maybe the 2,000th time is a charm? Ha ha.

My voice is still all wacky and raspy despite feeling pretty good. It gets annoying because when I use inflection during speaking, it sometimes does not come out but a whisper or just air. Arrrgh!

I am being lazy at work today since my boss is out. Hey I just wrote 3 & served 4 warrants in the past *not quite* 2 months--you'd think the boss would be proud. He is only mildly amused. Sigh.

That's about all. Told you this blog was boring but thanks for enduring it anyway!!!!

What a small world!

Ok, so I am a Facebook junkie right? Well, on FB you have a wall and it tells you what your friends have been up to yada yada yada...anyway so a junior high school friend of mine is on my friends list. I am browsing though on my "wall" last night and I see "Heather is now friends with *** *****". Well this particular guy I recgonized the name as one of the pilots we use for our top cover on our search warrants.

Now the reason this is weird is because in Jr. High I had to move away before we all went to 9th grade and I moved about 30 or so miles away. It was an up & coming part of town my parents took me to. I was not happy to be changing schools, etc.

So, I see this name and I write her (Heather) a msg. asking if this guy was a pilot? She says yes, and he is one of our other Jr. High school friend's husbands!

Whoa! So then I write to this other girl I knew in Jr. High (she was not on my friends list at the time so didn't make the connection before) and tell her I think I know her hubby. She writes backs and says yes that's him.

Well the other weird thing is that HE went to MY high school. Yeah the one that I moved to 30 miles away from all my friends and whatnot. I don't remember him in HS (he's 2 yrs. older) but how weird is that? Bizarre. I am still amazed at what FB has connected me with!

If you don't have it, I suggest getting a profile on there. It can be very interesting! It is not like pedophile heaven MySpace. Sorry MySpace users, I just am wary of MySpace and have busted pedophiles from that site before....

I just had to mention it and get it down in writing. Other than that it's been a very uneventful day. DH is at work today and it's just me & the kiddos. All in the house. I cleaned my kitchen and it looks great. I am planning on making Greek for dinner so that's something to look forward to! Didn't get on the scale today. I am always afraid I'll be disappointed. I want to wait until I can't wait to get on it!

This is how I'm doing it

Since I got asked a couple times on the weight loss this is how I'm doing it...

I have a free online acct. w/ My-calorie-counter.com and I record everything that goes in my mouth on there. I also discovered on there how many calories I can have a day in order to lose 1 lb. per week so that's set as my target and I am usually under it. You put in your weight and height and it gives you the amt. of calories per day to maintain what you're at. It also says near the bottom that if you want to lose a pound per week, subtract a certain amount (mine was minus 500 calories). So, I did the math and I have my target set and I put everything in there. I also stopped eating "fake" stuff like processed foods. No more boxed mac n cheese (just realized how bad it really is for you!) and no more chips :( and no more regular soda :( no more sweets (except on occasion). My cheese is the 2% instead of fully leaded and no more white refined sugar (Splenda now). I use sugar free creamer in my coffee too. It's an adjustment but not really too bad to tell you the truth. As long as I can still have bread in my diet I am ok!

Whoo hoo YEAH!

Hey guess what? I have lost 11 pounds since 2/2!!! YAY! I always think I am going to have gained when I step on that scale but for the most part I've been plesantly surprised! Now, if I could lose 30 more I'd be good but I'd REALLY love to lose 40 more but I am not expecting miracles here.

We finally got our taxes done and they should be electronically filed yesterday or today. I want my $! I want my diamond ring, lol.....

Samantha has been a little sick but getting better. Of course I got the bug and am doing worse than she was but I guess I'd rather have that. I have pretty much lost my voice and I so didn't wanna come into work today but I had like 8 reports I had to write otherwise my boss would kick my ass. I got 'em done so am thinking of leaving and going home to rest.

Sam has been wanting to come into our bed at night around 1AM to sleep the rest of the night w/ us. I love my baby to death but it is so difficult to sleep w/ that kid. She's all over the place. I feel most sorry for Dh. Last night it was her and I coughing up a storm in bed all night.

I have no plans for the weekend. I was thinking of going to go see my cousin's baby but now that I am sick I can't. I am still sorta upset w/ her but I figure I can't hold a grudge forever. I got to try & be the better person? I am lonely without her really even though we don't see each other every day or anything. I just am lonely for the great conversation we used to always have. Maybe one of these days it'll get better again. I feel like I did something to make her mad or something but when I think hard, I know I have done nothing wrong so I dunno....

Anyway, if I feel ok this weekend I am thinking of doing some painting in the house. I want to paint my living room burgundy. Seriously. I hate painting but I hate the boring walls even more. I think I will spend a little tax refund on some wall decoration this time. My house needs it. I am a bad interior decorator but I gotta do something!

Other than that stuff, nothing new here! My warrants this week went well. I actually got a COMPLIMENT from a coworker this week instead of being ostracized. I am so dramatic aren't I? :) I got to work w/ one of the Riverside Sheriff's officers that I really like, I wish he was my boss, he's so cool and nice! Was good to work with him on my warrant. Oh yeah, I also called an FBI agent to assist us--I have talked to him on the phone before but never saw him. OMG--that is the most handsome agent I have EVER seen! Whew! My other female team member was drooling too. He is a very nice guy as well and easy to get along with. I told her we'll have to bring the eye candy along w/ us more often, lol!

It's also a good feeling to seize someone's computers that they were using to look at BAD stuff too. I can't wait to go back & arrest this particular dirt bag. he's a friggin' weirdo.

quick update

Sorry, haven't had a lot of time to manage the blog.

Recent happenings real quick....

Went to Vegas this past weekend, saw 2 old friends, it was awesome. Traffic coming back last night sucked. Poor DH for driving. Can't believe how much Vegas has changed sine I lived there.

V Day was good. Gave Dh a nice watch, he loves it. DSS got a DS game (Tony Hawk skateboarding), Samantha got some Dora/Diego matchbox cars. No candy for anyone this year.

I have today (Mon) off. Nice to be home & relax.

Got another search warrant signed by the judge last week. We'll be executing it on Wed. Then 1 of my coworkers also got another one signed and we'll do that one on Thurs. It'll be a busy week.

I lost another pound despite cheating a little this weekend. I did the best I could and I guess it worked! YAY! I'll take whatever I can get, trying not to be greedy!

For V day my DH agreed to let me add on another 1ct. of diamond band for my wedding ring. We gotta wait until we get our tax return in the bank before I get it though. Hopefully another week or so.

The warrant went well, the SRT guys looked HOTTTTTTT in their uniforms and many of them are just so handsome. I wonder if that's a requirement of being on that team? The leader I had to deal with made me melt, gosh he is SO handsome & nice. Whew!

Anyway, the dirtbag lawyered up which means he didn't give us a statement. We took his daughter out of the home and put her with her mom. She's a cute 6 yr. old. I can't go into more details but I am glad she's not w/ her dad or in that house. I took the dirtbag to court on Wed. for his initial appearance and they detained him (no bond) which is what we wanted. So who knows what's next for him? Well, it'll obviously be prison time. One less on the streets my friends! YAY!

Not much else happening. Getting our taxes done tomorrow. I am hoping for a nice fat refund as usual. We had to foreclose on DH's old house though so I am not sure what that'll do to our taxes but I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

My diet is going well. And Yes, Shannon we can be diet buddies!!!! :) I weighed myself on Wed. and I had lost 5 lbs. already. That's 5 lbs. in like 3 days. Crazy! I know it wont always come off like that but I am happy all the same. I have not cheated once. I think I am actually cheating myself as I do not eat the 1600 calories a day I don' think. I keep it under that a bit.

I am trying to go to Vegas to see some old friends on the long weekend. That means DH and I will be there for V Day too. I am excited, a few of these friends I haven't seen since graduating college (I went to UNLV) so it's been like 13 years or so. Yikes, where does the time go?!

Did I mention....

I'm friggin' hungry!!!! ARRRRGH! ;)

Somewhat stressed

Ugh, I have another search warrant tomorrow. This time it involves an arrest as well. Our Special Response Team (SRT) is going to do the entry for us. That's great and all but lends another stress factor in the whole warrant thing. There are 3 guys flying out from IN as well since they initiated the case. I hope I don't mess anything up or make myself look like an ass.

I started a diet today. Its already hard. I want to lose 40lbs. by August. My 20 yr. high school reunion's coming up and I don't want to go looking like this. Plus, I am too fat and I really want to slim down to my regular shape even though it's not skinny, I'll take anything less than my weight now! So easy to gain, so hard to lose. I cleaned out my cabinets of all the "bad" stuff and gave a lot of food to the neighbor kids and then brought some of it to work. I hope I can succeed. I hate dieting and love to eat whatever I want. Unfortunately I do not have the metabolism that allows me to eat anything I want. Sigh. I want to be around for a long time and watch my kids grow up, you know?

Guess that's about all there is. Will let you know how this warrant goes in the near future.
