My agency annoys me sometimes

I am still out here in my hotel room. It's starting to get old. Its amazing how big this operation was and how disorganized it has been. My group today spent the day doing computer entries for the arrests that occured thus far. With all the people I have seen hanging around the command post every time I have been there, you'd think one of them could've done it. This op has nothing to do w/ what my group even does for work. NOt sure if one of my co workers volunteered us (which is very likely--that bastard) but all the same it sucked. I hate when stuff like this happens.

My DH came out for the weekend which was nice but he had to leave this morning. It is very rare that we get to spend time alone with one another with no kids. We basically went out to eat and went shopping when we were together. It's a bummer that I had to work all weekend but that's how it is I guess. It doesn't even feel like a Sunday since I worked.

I miss my Samantha. My mom is spoiling her to death. I hear she's been eating ice cream every day, ugh. I wish I could have some ice cream, that sounds good.

I am going to see one of my college buddies again tonight. She just bought a new truck and is excited (as would be expected) so I told her to come by the hotel here and pick me up in it! I'll see if I can post some pics of us since I'll remember my camera tonight!

The day before the "Big Op"

Well here I am again in my hotel room. I went home last night to see Samantha and the gang. It was great. It was also a good thing I went home because I realized this morning that I actually left a piece of my tactical gear in my closet! Whew! Dodged that bullet so to speak!

Today we should get more info. on the happenings tomorrow morning out here. Looks like I'll be out here until next Tue. which is a bummer. I was kinda hoping we'd be done with our targets by Sunday or something. Oh well.

Weight loss plans are being sabotaged a little by coworkers wanting to go out to eat and seeing an old college friend of mine the other night. I haven't been too bad really, but I have only lost like 1 lb. in 6 days. That's a little slow for me. Maybe a "weight plateau" is in store for me soon? I hope not. Sure do love wearing jeans I couldn't a few weeks ago, I feel a lot better/confident in myself.

I guess there's really nothing interesting going on at the moment. If I don't get a chance to update tonight would you send me good luck vibes? You never know what'll happen when we (the cops) knock on the door of a gang member, wanting to arrest him. I am somewhat nervous, but all should go ok.

So here I am in the desert....

I miss Samantha. I'm in my hotel room and this is lame because no one has any definite plans for the week. I fel sorta crappy. I have a cold or something I just can't shake. Arrrgh!

The good thing is we have complimentary internet service and I have an actual coffee maker in the room + a micro and a fridge so I could bring my diet stuff. Sigh. At least you can tell finally that I have lost something! Sorry I keep talking about it but my life is boring. Not much else happening!

Tomorrow night when we're all done w/ our shenanagans (sp?) I am going to visit an old college friend, consequently by the name Samantha! What a great name! :) Last time I saw her was @ my baby shower 2 1/2 yrs. ago! Before that it'd been like 10 years or more! I need to work on my friendships more. I look forward to tomorrow night and hanging out at her house and catching up.

I ordered a Thai soup for dinner tonight from a restaurant and it's kinda yucky! BUMMER! I was craving Thai food SO bad, I'd really like to have some green or red curry but cannot as they have a lot of fat/calories in them....oh well. I need to get my ass on the treadmill downstairs but I know I probably wont.

Watching a show called "Operation Repo" where this group repos cars and such. Not sure I could handle that job to tell you the truth. Too many mouthy people and I know I would get pissed off every day by them.

Well, not sure how this whole operation is going to pan out but I only hope we all come home in 1 piece. On Wed. I am thinking of going home for the night--that's too much time away from my baby Samantha. I know the kids are being horribly spoiled by my mom at the moment. Of course the week I have to be away, DH is away as well. Doesn't it figure? At least I know they're being taken care of by grandma! I'll just have to undo the spoiling when I get back...

A miracle has occured!

I am down 20 pounds as of today! YEAH! I can't believe it. Usually I cannot stick to a diet worth crap. I am going to do it this time though if I gotta kill someone like my coworker eating french fries right next to me at lunch when I am having salad! Ack!

Anyway, today was a good day. Early morning warrant. We got the goods on this guy. His daughter is SO cute, she let me pick her up & bring her downstairs to her mommy and didn't even cry (she's 1 1/2). I am such a mom. Here I am in a bullet-proof vest w/ a gun on and a big ole metal helmet and she lets me pick her up & carry her. I am such a sucker for little kids! No one else went over to her wanting to make sure she was ok and not scared & might want to be with mom. Well, I took that initiative. Even if it made me look like a pansy, I don't really care.

Got to work w/ one of my favorite sargeants w/ the RV County Sheriff's Dept. too. Found out he lives like 5 miles away from me which was a surprise! We also have other things in common like the desert dirt bike riding thing. Maybe we can become buddies off work time too. I would love to meet his wife, she's probably as cool as him. He has grandchildren the same age as Sam so she could make some new friends too!

My mommy is coming out to help w/ childcare for next week and the week after as I have an operation I have to participate in. I sure am glad she can help. She's flying out from VA. She is looking forward to seeing the kiddos too. I know Sam will be in heaven having grandma around. Ugh, the kid I'll have after grandma leaves is what I worry about! :)

Time to get a little nap in while I am at home in glorious seclusion (or lack of kids. Can't think of a better word at the moment. My inner-thesaurus is not working at the moment!). I am still a little under the weather. It's weird....it's not a total head cold (or maybe it is) anyway, but I am SO stuffed up and have a nasty cough at times. A sinus infection maybe? who knows? All I do know is I am off to N.A.P.!

"I need a boat"

Is what Samantha told me last night. Too funny! My kid is obsessed with water. Does your kid live to take a bath I wonder? Mine does!

By the way, I am sick. AGAIN! Arrrgh! Could not sleep worth crapola last night and I am friggin' paying for it today. We have a warrant tomorrow morning in Palm Springs so that means I gotta leave extra early. Blah!

I am loving my new government car that I finally got! I'd tell you what it is but then I wouldn't be super secret anymore! :)

Hodge podge....

Some of my favorite blogs have really gotten me into a thoughtful, reflective mood this morning. My heart goes out to those who are going through a hard time right now. I wish I could somehow be more supportive. I wish I didn't wear my heart on my sleeve so much. This is a posting of random things, hence the title "Hodge Podge" (sp?).

Work is going ok. I was surprised at one of my coworkers asking for MY advice on a report his trainee turned into him the other day. Mind you, this agent thinks he's SUPERAGENT and knows everything. He has pretty much told me I've disappointed him as an agent in the past. WTF? Ugh, men sometimes! It's hard being in a male-dominated, super-ego, manly-type of job sometimes. Anyway, I was surprised but before I go patting myself on the back, I wonder....sometimes I think he may be setting me up for something. Failure perhaps? It's sad to think this way, but that's just how it is sometimes. So, I wont pat myself on the back.

I am supposed to be getting a new government car today, I hope it pans out. The one I have driven for the past 4 yrs. is a POS. My new one's supposed to be an SUV which I am more comfortable in, I hate driving a car, being so close to the ground and not being able to see around trucks and such.

I got on the treadmill again last night after eating a hearty helping of spaghetti. Mmmm, it was good. Nice and filling carbs. I am proud of my 15 lb. weight loss so far. Gotta keep it going, I am hoping to be at target weight by mid-July. That's not so long when you think about it for a second. March is already going by quick.

Here are a couple pics of our local park excursion the other day. Samantha loved it & didn't want to leave (of course)...

Finally did it

I am so proud of myself....I finally got enough $ in Samantha's bank account in order to open a CD up. Now I know rates are absolutely horrible but 1.93% is better than .50% or whatever the usual bank acct. rate is. I didn't commit for too long since I always hope rates will jump back up again. In 5 months I can always renew it or change it I suppose to a better rate. Can they get any worse than they are now? I hope not! Every single time she gets cash, I put it directly into her piggy bank. When I have enough to warrant going to the bank for a deposit, I go. That kid had more than $150 this last time. Sheesh! I remember when I had $4 as a kid and I thought I had a lot of $! Of course she has no idea what $ can do for her yet, but one day she'll know. I have been busting my ass to get $2,000 in her account. I even "loaned" her $300 awhile ago to get to it. She gets $50/month from my paycheck & gets extras along the way w/ tax returns or when mommy's feeling extra generous.

I am now down 14 lbs.! YAY! I hate to say it but I think getting my lazy butt on the treadmill is helping a lot! My favorite thing to do is enter a new weight # into my online diet journal. Wouldn't that be anyone's favorite thing to do though when they're trying to lose weight? :) I "binged" on 1 1/2 servings of my sugar free shortbread cookies yesterday after work so forced myself to walk on that treadmill a little longer than usual and I guess it paid off. Those things are SO good. Think I'll have a couple now....just not too many.

Thanks girls!

Thanks for the tip for "Cutestblogontheblock". Looks better now!!! :)

PS-- as a side note I want the hair things on the EZcombs commercial. I really think I am going to go to the website....EZcombs.com

You want to know what's annoying?

This is so trite but annoying all the same....

On my work computer I cannot see most pics that people post in their blogs or on my message board I go to. It's really annoying. So, if I read things on my blogs or on my board and it deals with a picture someone posted, I have to wait until I get home and look at the post again in order to see what the heck everyone's talking about. Sometimes I even forget to go back! Argh! I guess it's just one of those things one has to live with. I suppose there are worse things to be annoyed at or to be inconvenienced by huh?

Just thought I'd throw it out there though....

PS-- does anyone know how I can change my blog background or where to go to to get a code for a new one? This background is annoying me too.
