ugh, potty training

is hard. Sam sorta has it down but not completely. It's a difficult process. We're working on it. She does great at DC but at home it's not as good, but not too bad either.

Who has PT suggestions? I'll take any! Thanks! :)

It's a bittersweet day....

I dropped off my Samantha this morning to the new DCP. She was the 1st one there. I'll have to make a mental note that for the next few days to drop her off a bit later so that other kids'll be there when she's there. Just until she gets used to going somewhere new.

I know I made a good decision on the DCP but it just breaks my heart all over again to "leave" her. I feel like I did when she was 2 mos. old & dropping her off for the 1st time at a DC. She didn't want me to leave and I think she didn't quite understand that that was her new DC and preschool for 5 days a week instead of going to the usual one. She's been off schedule so to say since I have been gone for almost 2months and my mom was here then my aunt then my other aunt to see to her everyday needs.

I feel bad, guilty and a little sad. I am off today but I had to take her in as I need her to start getting used to this new place (which BTW is SO clean and the DCP is so loving and great). I was supposed to have a root canal this morning but rescheduled it to next month. Seriously, I was going to get one. I finally enrolled myself in my DH's military dental program this weekend (my dental ins. pays like crap) and it'll take a couple weeks to kick in so had to reschedule it.

Guess that's about all. Here's a few pics from this weekend. Hope you like!

So I decided

On a DCP finally. I had changed my mind a couple times. I am really into people who have their shit together you know? It kept nagging at me to choose this DCP who has a phenomenally clean house and preschool program but a little pricier vs. another lady who has a PS program & watches a bunch of girls (potential girly friends for S) but not as organized. It was hard to decide but I finally thought what might be best for Sam and not just what I thought about someone.

She'll start on June 8th at the new daycare. Yesterday was her last day at the old one. My aunt is still here from ID so she'll watch Sam while I'm away. My last day out here is Thursday June 4th. Its bittersweet to tell you the truth. I'll miss my friend Sara and the things I've been able to go out and do (bowling, movies, Padre game, dinners, etc..) and the companionship of another girl I work with and like (rare for me). It's been nice. She is one of the nicest people I have ever known and I am serious.

I have missed Sam so much though so it'll also be nice to go home. I had to stay out here this last weekend and I was so bored. I went to the mall (it's very very close to my hotel) and tried to kill time there. It made me sad not to have my kids w/ me though. They have a really nice carousel there and a little train that chugs around the food court and then everyone and their mom had little kids w/ them. Made me lonely. Plus, DH took the kids and his aunt to Sea World in San Diego. I was wishing I was there w/ them but I had to stay out here in case "something" came up for work. That "something" never did. What a waste. I pretty much knew nothing would be going on, but you never know. I don't want to get in trouble in case something happened and I am 2 hrs. or more away.

On a lighter note however, I took myself to the movies here on Sunday and saw Terminator/Salvation. Wow, it was great and there are 2 HOT guys in it so I wasn't complaining. Going to the movies by myself was a new experience and not a bad thing really. I'd do it again. I also did a little shopping since I had nothing better to do. Never knew the Disney store could be so much fun to shop at when you have kids. I like Disney but am not a fanatic or anything. Having kids makes it way more fun though. Got some PJ's and some character plates and bowls for Sam. She'll love them.

Well, guess that's about all that's going on here. Have a great day everyone!

It's been that kinda month

I have not been able to update much (obviously). The internet connection @ the hotel sucks. I have had to spend the past 2 weekends in El Centro at work. Only been home sporadically here and there.

My DCP dropped a huge bomb on me last Friday (not yesterday). She said she's cutting back on the amt. of kids she's watching and can no longer take care of Sam. UGH! How do I find someone new when I am away for work????? She said she'll give me 3 more weeks until I came back but even then I don't have much time to find a new person I like and trust. What a pain in my ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I took yesterday off and visited 7 providers. It was a LONG day. Took Sam w/ me to 6 of them and by the last one I had to leave her at home w/ Aunt Jeanene since she hadn't had a nap.

I am not sure what to do. Does Sam need a preschool curriculum? A regular daycare? What are all you doing at 2 1/2 years old w/ your kiddos?

I met a lot of nice ladies yesterday. All have something good to offer but the one who has the most kick ass program is very expensive for me for the overnight thing which I need someone to do occasionally. The other lady I like has a pool which is fenced but I still worry. Arrrgh! What to do what to do.....do I choose the older lady who's been doing DC for 25 yrs. but no preschool? Do I choose the good preschool pgm. but spend more for overnight?

Does she need preschool? I only want the best for my baby.

Advice if you so please!!!!! Any is appreciated!!! :)

Sorry I haven't been updating

but I've been busy down here. I am working at the ports of entry doing what they call southbound operations. We inspect people going INTO Mexico. Well, before they hit the border across into MX. We're looking for people taking money and/or guns into the country as of the recent violence down there. Apparently there have been some good money seizures in the past. All I know is that it's hot and miserable and sorta boring. Sounds glamorous, but it's so not. I'd rather be doing surveillance or interviews or even the duty. Crazy.

Anyway, they want me to work this weekend but I am going to tell them to pound sand. I am not going to work on Mother's day, c'mon! My mom flew out yesterday from VA to help me w/ the kiddos. I am anxious to see her. We have Fri. and Mon. off & since I wont work the weekend, it'll be a nice break at home.

We got a dog this past weekend too. CRAZY. We already have 3! This one's a small, indoor/outdoor dog (our other 3 are strictly outdoor). She's a Chihuahua/weiner dog mix. I'll see if I have a few pics to upload of her here. Samantha adores her. Her name is Layla. We didn't name her, the shelter did. I kinda liked the name so we left it at that. She was a stray and now has a home w/ us.

So, what do you think? I think she's kinda cute. Oh yeah, the dog's cute too. :)
